Bruce D. Haslem, Department of Economics & Finance
Dr. Bruce D. Haslem, Associate Professor of Finance, holds a B.S. from Utah State University and a Ph.D. from Indiana University-Bloomington. With the help of colleague Steve Evans, Haslem has been able to make significant improvements to the finance program. Together they have restructured the curriculum and degree requirements to match the highest industry expectations. He has been at Southern Utah University since 2011.
Daniel J. Hatch, Department of Psychology
Dr. Daniel J. Hatch, Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology, holds a B.A. from Weber State University, and an M.S. and Ph.D. from Utah State University. He has been at Southern Utah University since 2014.
Nozomi Irei, Department of English
Dr. Nozomi Irei, Assistant Professor of English, holds M.A.s from University of York, U.K. and University of Wisconsin, Madison, and a Ph.D. from University of Wisconsin, Madison. She has been at SUU since 2009.
Abigail J. Larson, Department of Kinesiology & Outdoor Recreation
Dr. Abigail Larson, Assistant Professor of Exercise Science holds a B.S. and M.S. from Northern Michigan University and a Ph.D. from University of Utah. Her competitive sports history and passion for healthy lifestyles brings new and unique perspectives to her research and classroom. She has been at Southern Utah University since 2012.
Mark H. Meilstrup, Department of Mathematics
Dr. Mark H. Meilstrup, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, holds a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. from Brigham Young University. He has been at Southern Utah University since 2012.
Christopher Monson, Department of Physical Science
Dr. Christopher Monson, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, holds a B.S. from Brigham Young University and a Ph.D. from University of California- Berkeley. He has been at Southern Utah University since 2011.
Mary B. Pearson, Department of Accounting
Mary Pearson, Dean of the School of Business, holds a B.S. and Master of Accounting from Southern Utah University, and is completing a Ph.D. from Northcentral University, Arizona. Along with her work as a professor at SUU, Pearson is a certified public accountant (CPA) with her own financial firm in Cedar City, Utah. She has been at Southern Utah University since 1999.
Joshua A. Price, Department of Economics & Finance
Dr. Joshua Price, Assistant Professor of Economics, holds a B.A. from Brigham Young University and an M.A., M.S., and Ph.D. from Cornell University. His research focuses on the application of behavioral economic tools in the areas of education, health and sports. He has been at Southern Utah University since 2013.
Ravi K. Roy, Department of Political Science & Criminal Justice
Dr. Ravi Roy, Assistant Professor of Political Science, holds a B.A. from UCLA, and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Claremont Graduate University. He serves as the director of the W. Edwards Deming Center for Quality, Innovation & Leadership and has been at Southern Utah University since 2015.
Benjamin R. Sowards, Department of Art & Design
Benjamin Soward, Associate Professor of Illustration holds a B.F.A. from Brigham Young University and an M.F.A. from Laguna College of Art and Design. He has passion for learning and illustration, always inspiring his students to do their best and find their creativity. He has been at Southern Utah University since 2001.
