SUU on the Hill: 2019 Utah Legislative Session Comes to a Close

2019-02-legislative-session-endUtah legislators ended the 2019 session Thursday, March 14 after awarding Southern Utah University with funding for exciting new projects and programs which will be implemented in the next year.

The funding comes with lots of praise for the university’s outstanding growth and retention rates, utilization of space and overall innovation. Lawmakers even allotted extra funding to ensure success with a degree program that SUU students will have the opportunity to pilot before anyone else in the state.

An official announcement of this program and the rest of the university’s projects will be shared soon.

On a personal note, this has been such an amazing internship experience and I will never forget the lessons that I have been taught over the last few months. I highly recommend this experience to anyone who is looking to engage in a new and challenging professional experience.

I would also like to give a shoutout to my amazing mentor, Donna Law, for all that she has taught me and helped me to achieve during this session. She does so much for our school behind the scenes, I know that none of our success this session would have happened without her hard work.

I’m so excited to see what happens for SUU in the next session!
