Meet Our Professors: Briget Eastep, Outdoor Recreation

Dr. Briget Eastep, Southern Utah University’s Director of Outdoor Engagement, began her career as an outdoor educator in 1991 as a Ranger at Philmont Boy Scout Ranch in New Mexico. She is now an associate professor for outdoor recreation who works with campus and community partners to broaden opportunities in service learning and experiential education. Under her tutelage students gain involvement and leadership skills while giving back to their local public lands.

It’s all Greek for Dr. Dave Lunt, Assistant Professor of History at Southern Utah University. A specialist in ancient athletics, Dave intensely studies the effects of sports in society, specifically Greece. He loves studying this 2,000-year-old topic because of the ways that sports reveal cause-and-effect in ancient (and modern) societies, as well as the human factors that drive historic events.

Meet Our Professors: Kelly Goonan, Outdoor Recreation

Dr. Kelly Goonan developed a passion for the outdoors while working at summer camp in the Adirondack Mountains of New York. For ten summers during her high school and college years, she worked at the Boy Scout camp, Sabattis Scout Reservation. Her duties included teaching outdoor skills such as swimming, snorkeling and lifeguard certification and taking scouts on wilderness trips.
