Michael D’Orazio, a junior music education major at Southern Utah University, has been interested in music since he was 11 years old. He was drawn to music because of the creative freedom to make art that was entirely his own. He transferred to SUU in the fall of 2017 from Antelope Valley College, a school in his hometown of Lancaster, California.

Halie Hagerty, a senior chemistry education major with minors in photography and physics education at Southern Utah University, has been volunteering for the last two years with the SUU Honors You program. The program invites kids from low income families to SUU’s campus to learn about the importance of higher education and ways to pay for it.

Aaron Ganss, a senior philosophy major, traveled to the Dominican Republic on a weeklong service trip as part of a cultural immersion program. Ganss went through the non-profit organization Solid Rock International and SUU’s Rural Health Scholars program, along with a group of other students from SUU, Snow College, USU Eastern-Price, and the University of Utah.
